German Labour Front (Arbeitfront) After the Nazis rose to power-with the country engulfed in grave economic crisis - the new government immersed itself fully in economic affairs. According to Nazi ideology, the state economy should be corporate - harkening back to the days of feudalism - rather than either socialist or capitalist in structure. For example, the ideology proposed that German labour relations should be regulated by trade organisations that would embrace both labour and management. The Arbeitfront was such an organisation. Within its framework, labour and management were to work as an autonomous unit to settle conflicts of interests in labour relations, market prices, and competition.
